Support WSCs New Grass Fields!!
Woodland Soccer Club is thrilled to announce our inaugural fundraising concert! Join us for an evening of music and community as we rally together to help over 600 kids have grass soccer fields of their own!
We are calling all of our community to not only come and help support our club but to enjoy an evening together with good company, tasty food and unforgettable performance at our Labor Day of Love concert!
Woodland Soccer Club started in 1982 to provide an opportunity for our local kids to participate in Competitive Youth Soccer. 40+ years later and our Club has grown to over 600 members, servicing families throughout Yolo, Sacramento, Solano and Colusa County. But with this growth comes challenges. One of these challenges is that we have outgrown the current City facilities available to us. In early 2023, WSC began discussions with the City on some available property, that we could lease from them to build and maintain our own set of fields.
The proposed Grass Soccer Field Complex is located on Sports Park Dr. between the Community Center and the Woodland Christian school. It will contain two full size fields ( 120y x 70y ) and two smaller fields for either 5v5 games or warmups. Another highlight of the property will be a Kickback Wall, that will proudly display the individuals and companies that made this dream come true for so many current and future kids.
To build a facility like this will take a collaborative effort from our membership and the surrounding community. The LABOR DAY OF LOVE concert will boast three acts, including our headliner: The Purple Ones, a Prince Tribute band. We will be hosting the event within the beautiful surroundings that Velocity Island Park offers, Sandy beach, grass area and amazing food and drinks.
